Man Robs Ambridge Dollar General At Knife Point

AMBRIDGE, Pa.,None — Police in Ambridge said a man robbed a Dollar General Store at knifepoint Sunday night after asking the clerk for help finding crayons.

Investigators said the entire robbery was caught on surveillance tape and they hope someone will recognize the man responsible.

"The video is pretty clear. It gets a good shot of him," said Ambridge Police Chief Jim Mann.

Officers said the robber stayed inside the store for 25 minutes, waiting for the best moment to steal money from a safe.

"He grabbed the manager in the back and said he needed help with crayons. Then he told him that, 'This is a robbery. I will cut you and people inside here will get hurt too.'"

The video shows the man follow the manager to the cash register and a safe below.

Investigators said they believe the robber may be from around the Ambridge area.
