Man who robbed Shaler bank caught on camera before putting on mask

The FBI and the Shaler police department are investigating a bank robbery.

Investigators said they received a hold-up alarm call just after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Allegheny Valley Bank at 900 Mount Royal Boulevard.

The robber approached the bank before putting his mask on. His face was captured by a security camera.

Once the robber entered the bank, he was wearing a black mask over his face. Investigators said he also had a wig on. He was armed with a handgun.

The FBI provided the following description of the robber:

  • White man
  • 5'8"-5'10" tall
  • 170 pounds
  • In his 50's

He was driving a newer model, black Nissan Versa with partial Pennsylvania license plate J**-**10.
