PITTSBURGH,None — Nearly 500 teams raced through downtown Pittsburgh Saturday searching for a flawless 1.5 carat diamond ring as part of the Henne Jewelers Diamond Dash.
The 480 teams received text messages to their cell phones with questions and clues. Contestants braved the stormy weather hunting for over three hours to find the Mark Patterson ring valued at $15,000.
Each question the contestants got right earned them points. The player with the most points at the end of the race took home the diamond.
Bill and Leanne Stickman were the lucky winners.
Bill is a lawyer who grew up in Mt. Washington and works Downtown. They have been married for five years and have two children. The couple said they could not be happier.
Representatives with Henne Jewelers said the contest was a way of thanking the community for all of their support over the years.
The Diamond Dash game was presented by SCVNGR, a location based web-app company that organizes scavenger hunts for various organizations.
