PITTSBURGH,None — Neighbors on typically quiet Firth Street on the North Side said there's a battle brewing over loud air conditioning units.
Neighbor Phil Gross called Channel 11 this week about a computer business he calls a neighborhood nuisance. He said the constant hum of its air conditioning units is affecting the quality of life for all who live there.
Channel 11 went to check it out on Thursday and spoke with Gross again.
"You gotta scream at each other when those things are running hard because nobody can hear each other," said Gross.
"It's horrible. It's all you can hear all day," said another neighbor who wished to not have his name published.
The building and business are owned by Chris Ravenstahl, who is Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl's cousin.
Chris Ravenstahl claims that he's not in violation of the city's noise ordinance but that he did get a letter from building inspections because he doesn't have permits for the roof units and plans to put a sound barrier around them.
"We have the parts for a fence and are waiting for repairs on the roof," said Chris Ravenstahl.
