Parents charged after police find heroin, needles within reach of infant

Two New Stanton parents are charged after police found heroin and needles within reach of their infant daughter.

Police said they went to the Wentsler  Avenue apartment to serve an arrest warrant on the baby’s father, Falon Lee Crowley, who is charged with motor vehicle theft.

According to a criminal complaint, troopers saw stamp bags of heroin on the dining room table as well as drug paraphernalia including metal spoons and uncapped hypodermic needles.

Police said the child’s mother, Samantha Prinkey, then walked out of a back bedroom, where more heroin and a needle were found on a nightstand.

Prinkey’s mother told Channel 11 News she is devastated. She said she knew Prinkey was wrapped up with the wrong people, and knew she had a problem, but didn’t know it was to this extent. She said her main concern is for her granddaughter.

As of Thursday afternoon, Prinkey remained in jail on $10,000 straight cash bail. Cowley's bond is $20,000 because of his warrants.

The child is safe and with relatives.
