Police: Man Robs Butler Doctor's Office, Has Medical Emergency

BUTLER, Pa.,None — Police said a man who tried robbing a doctor's office in Butler had a medical emergency before leaving the building.

An employee at Complete Care in Butler called police when he arrived at work because the office had been ransacked. When police arrived, they said they searched the building and found Nicholas Heath, 26, lying on the floor.

Investigators said he was having a medical emergency after taking some medication he allegedly stole from the office. Heath was taken into custody and transported to a hospital to be checked out.

The employee who found Heath told Channel 11 News that he took several medications including muscle relaxers and anti-depressants.

Police said he also tried to steal a pink stethoscope, turned over exam tables and ate food from an employee refrigerator.

Aaron Sloboda, a counselor at the Butler County Prison, who also had an appointment at the office Monday said drugs are a major problem in the area.

"It seems more and more. This is the town I grew up in and this is what the town has become," said Sloboda. "It's over run with drugs and it's not the same town it was 20 years ago when I grew up."

Heath is currently being held in the Butler County Prison, facing multiple charges.
