Police: Men Brought 8-Month-Old To Drug Deal In Homestead

PITTSBURGH,None — Police in Homestead said they arrested two men on Tuesday after they brought an 8-month-old with them to buy heroin.

Christopher Huellen, 27, and Derek Hill, 24, both of Portvue, went to Homestead to buy the drugs when they were arrested, police said.

"You want to bring a young child and you come here to Homestead to purchase drugs. Anything could happen. That's what upset me the most," Homestead police Chief Jeffrey Desimone said.

Officers said they found stamp bags of heroin inside of the car after they searched it. Desimone said neighbors spotted the suspicious looking car parked along West 12th Street. Acting on that tip, police stopped the car a few blocks away.

"Neither would fess up to their involvement, always blaming the other one. There was no excuse. What excuse can you give? I came here to buy drugs and the baby was in the car?" Desimone said.

Police said the men will likely face several charges including child endangerment.
