Police: Men Used Pellet Gun To Rob Overbrook Car Dealership

PITTSBURGH,None — Police have charged two men accused of using a pellet gun to rob a car dealership in Overbrook on Thursday.

Police said Dyrell Peebles, 24, and Derrick Pace, 23, were armed with guns when they robbed Compact Cars along East Saw Mill Run Boulevard.

Peebles and Pace went to the business asked about cars for sale, police said. The owner said that's when the suspects pulled masks over their heads and yelled, "Don't look at us."

According to police, the robbers tied up the owner and another man, stole their wallets, credit cards, cell phones and cash and ransacked the office before fleeing.

The victims were able to free themselves and run after the suspects. The owner, who was carrying a handgun, caught up with the men across the street and drew his weapon, ordering them to stop. When one of the men turned around with his weapon, the owner fired but missed.

Police said Peebles and Pace fled again but were detained by police a short time later along Minooka Street.

Officers recovered the cash taken in the robbery and found a black pellet gun that had been thrown into a nearby creek. The victims said that had been the pistol used in the robbery.

Peebles and Pace are charged with robbery and criminal conspiracy.
