MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Several Robert Morris University students learned Friday that they won a total of 13 national awards from the Society for Collegiate Journalists for their on-campus media work.
One of the pieces awarded first place in the television news package category focused on the selection and February arrival of the Moon Township university’s new president, Dr. Christopher Howard.
“I'm thrilled that RMU Sentry Media, RMU Radio and RMU-TV are being recognized nationally for the stellar work being done by our students,” student media adviser Carrie Moniot said.
"These awards demonstrate how diligent our students are in delivering professional-level content, whether it be for Sentry Media, RMU Radio or RMU-TV. I enjoy seeing the pride on their faces when that hard work is recognized,” said Anthony Moretti, director of RMU’s Center for Innovative Teaching and Directed Engaged Learning and an associate professor of communication.
