Safety concerns force church change days before wedding

PITTSBURGH — Originally planning to be married at St. Mary on the Mount, Casey Martin and Michael Jandrasits had to find a new wedding location after their church was closed due to safety concerns regarding the ceiling.

"They say to prepare for everything, but you don't prepare for your church... not being able to use it," said the bride, Casey Martin.

Concerns with the ceiling forced the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese to suddenly close the Mount Washington church on Friday.

Crace Anglican, a church just a few blocks away, opened its doors to the couple and others whose wedding plans were suddenly changed.

The groom, Michael Jandrasits, said, "Father Mike and the church have been excellent.  He basically had everything taken care of for us."

The wedding ceremony for this couple will take place Saturday afternoon.
