School Administrator Accused Of Child Molestation

PLEASANT HILLS, Pa.,None — A local school administrator has been suspended and accused of sex crimes against two children.

The suspect, Leslie Smith, is facing some pretty serious charges.

One of the victims is a mentally challenged child.

According to court paperwork, the abuse is alleged to have occurred over years.

Friday night, the suspect was behind bars. His job and his status as a respected member of the community is in jeopardy.

Leslie Smith, 60, who spent years as the assistant director at Steel Center Vocational Tech is facing more than a dozen charges related to inappropriate sexual contact with two young girls at his home in Bunola.

Investigators said the accusers, now adults, came forward with graphic details about the alleged abuse. They say it went on for 15 years.

The criminal affidavit states that one victim, who was 13-years-old at the time of the complaints, is disabled.

She said that Smith exposed her to pornographic movies.

The other girl said she was 11 when Smith asked her to "lift up her shirt so that he could kiss her."

The complaint goes on to say that during the investigation, Smith admitted to sexually assaulting the girls in his home.

Channel 11 News Reporter, Timyka Artist, knocked on Smith's door, but no one was home at the time.

The school solicitor said that no students were involved and Smith has been suspended pending further investigation.

One neighbor said Smith should be considered innocent until proven guilty.

He said, "I don't know what happened years ago, but I know [Smith] and I don't believe any of it."

Smith is behind bars with a $25,000 bond for charges including rape and aggravated indecent assault.

Police did not say why the accusers waited until they were adults before contacting them.
