Shaler Pizza Shop Manager Says Customers Attacked Him

SHALER TWP., Pa.,None — A pizza shop manager in Shaler Township said he was attacked by two customers Tuesday night.

Shaler police said the fight happened at a Vocelli's Pizza on Mount Royal Boulevard.

Vocelli's manager, Dominic George, said he and the owners daughter were in the back office counting receipts when two male customers came in, slammed their pizza on the counter and complained their order was wrong.

The owners daughter, Tajma Juklo, said the two demanded they remake their food.

"They demanded we make them food again. We said, ‘We'll give you a refund.' We tried to be as nice as we could, but they wanted their pizza," said Juklo.

"I said, ‘Sir, I'd appreciate it if you leave," said George. "I told them I was going to call the cops."

George said the verbal argument turned into physical violence when one of the men picked up a napkin dispenser and threw it at his forehead.

George said the men then rushed at him as he tried to defend himself.

"They were punching me, kicking me, hitting me with chairs," he said.

"I thought they were going to kill him," said Juklo.

During the attack, Juklo said she ran next door where someone called 911.

Shaler police didn't charge the men, who claim it was George who threw the first punch. Police said those men were the first to call 911.

George and Juklo believe they deserve justice.

"I want to see somebody at least punished for what happened," said George. "I want some justice."

Police said they are sorting through the conflicting stories and will have the case reviewed by the District Attorney.
