Storm Damages Butler County Campsite

RENFREW, Pa.,None — The Buttercup Campground in Renfrew, Butler County, suffered some serious storm damage Monday afternoon.

"It seemed to me the same as the microburst we had five years ago," said Barb Tanski, the co-owner of the campground.

Tanski showed Channel 11 News broken limbs and toppled trees on the property.

Some campers and trailers also took a hit from the heavy winds, Tanski said.

Resident Jen Bishop was with her son, Noah, when the storm hit.

"He was just sitting there playing his little game," said Bishop. "I heard a crack. I came over and grabbed him, pulled him over by the door, and it came in."

Bishop's trailer was damaged when a tree branch crashed through the top.

No one was injured on the campsite, but a major cleanup effort is under way.
