PITTSBURGH,None — A recent study by the Environmental Working Group examined which companies are providing the best bottled water.
Bottled water is often just tap water in a bottle that may or may not have been purified, according to Channel 11 News reporter Robin Taylor.
They also looked at the top selling brands to see if they said where the water was from and whether it was treated.
Nestle Pure Life purified water got the highest mark of well-known brands, a B, the report said. Evian and Fiji spring waters received C grades.
Pepsi's Aquafina and Coca-Cola's Dasini both got D grades, the report said, as well as Nestle's Deer Park natural spring water.
As an alternative to bottled water, the Environmental Working Group recommends filtered tap water because it's cheaper and more pure than tap water. However, they said if you have to drink bottled water to choose brands that have been purified, like Nestle's or Gerber's.
