The ScareHouse Hosts 'Crazy Scary' Fundraising Event

ETNA, Pa.,None — The ScareHouse is known for its chilling thrills, scary characters and detailed scenery, and on Tuesday, more screams meant more help for local children in need.

Voted one of the top-five haunted houses in America, The ScareHouse donated all ticket sales from the Crazy Scary fundraiser to two local fundraising drives, Make Room for Kids and Christmas Crazy for Kids.

Make Room For Kids is a social media-driven fundraising effort originated by local blogger Virginia Montanez from That's Church (also known as "PittGirl" ) designed to bring gaming and laptops to sick children at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, in association with The Mario Lemieux Foundation.

Christmas Crazy for Kids was created by local blogger Michelle Hammons from Burgh Baby. Donated funds are used to purchase and deliver toys to Toys for Tots and HOPE center.

VIP tickets were available for those who wanted to get the full ScareHouse experience. The tickets allowed guests to enjoy food and drinks on the second floor's brilliantly decorated room, as well as bumped them to the front of the line.

Amidst the pumpkins, candy corn, and "movie-like" scenery, some local celebrities were hiding in the crowd. 96.1 Kiss DJs Mikey and Tall Cathy both dressed in costumes without letting the crowd know. Many of those in attendance attempted to try and guess their identities.

Those who didn't have VIP tickets still were ready for a night of fright all while helping out a good cause.

"They're going to chase me," Bobbie White said nervously before entering the Scarehouse for the first time.

On her way out, White and her guest Keith Cross both gave their approval, "It was awesome!"

Hammons announced on her Twitter page Wednesday that the event raised a total of $6,299.
