1 killed, 5 injured in multi-vehicle crash on Route 403

One person was killed and five were injured in a multi-vehicle accident in Indiana County Friday night.

State police said the accident took place on Route 403, just south of Treese Road in Cherryhill Township around 7:45 p.m. Friday.

According to the police report, three vehicle were involved in the fatal crash.

An SUV was heading south on Route 403, while a Cheverolet Silverado was traveling north. As both vehicles approached a curve in the roadway, they collided head-on, police said.

The third vehicle, a Cheverolet Trailblazer, then struck the side of the Silverado.

The driver of the SUV, who has not yet been identified by police, was killed in the accident.

Jonathan Roush, 42 -- who was driving the Chevy Silverado -- was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries, along with his lone passenger.

The driver of the Chevy Trailblazer, Melissa Nagle, 33, also was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Two 11-year-old children who were in the vehicle were flown to Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police said a third passenger in that vehicle was not injured in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
