A Pittsburgh police officer caught on video kicking a suspect on the South Side last year is getting $15,000 from the city.
Officer Ray Toomey reached a settlement with the city over his ban from secondary detail.
When cell phone video showed Toomey slamming the head of a man into the ground during an arrest on Carson Street in May, Toomey was placed on desk duty while the incident was investigated. But no charges were filed.

He filed a grievance against the city since he was not allowed to work secondary detail during that time. The settlement stipulates he will have to resign in order to receive the $15,000.
Target 11 has learned the city also agreed to pay Pittsburgh police Sgt. Lynn Kohnfelder $18,500 after she also was prevented from working secondary detail.
Sources say she was being investigated for an unknown issue but, like Toomey, no charges were filed.
In a statement, Bob Swartzwelder, president of the Fraternal Order of Police said, “This is strictly a settlement between the city and FOP in agreement with both officers for that amount of money.”
Target 11 reached out to Pittsburgh public safety officials for a comment, but they referred to us to the city law department, which did not immediately respond.
