OIL CITY, Pa. — Three people were found dead after an accidental house fire in Oil City, officials announced Monday.
Investigators said the fire started around 1 a.m. Saturday on East Bissell Avenue due to an “overloaded circuit.” Two electric space heaters, a mini refrigerator and several computer devices were all plugged into that circuit.
According to firefighters, there were no working smoke detectors inside the home, and numerous liquid kerosene containers and propane tanks used for heating were scattered throughout -- which caused difficulties in getting the flames under control.
The house was destroyed, and all three residents were found dead in their bedrooms.
They were identified as Lori King, 57, Rodney Connerly, 61, and Debra Connerly, 68.
