JEANNETTE, Pa. — UPDATE 12:42 p.m. The boil water advisory has been lifted following two clean tests.
Customers can now use water as normal.

A boil water advisory has been issued for some Westmoreland County residents after a leak caused a loss of water pressure, according to the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County.
The leak was discovered on Green Street in Jeannette Monday morning causing a loss of water pressure. This could cause conditions that could lead to water contamination, officials said.
People who live northeast of Jeannette and bordering areas of Penn Township should boil their water or use bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing their teeth and making food until further notice.

The 984 people impacted were notified by phone call.
A water buffalo has been set up at the Grandview Volunteer Fire Department on Ridge Road in Jeannette.
Once repairs are complete, and two consecutive tests of water from the affected area come back with negative results, the advisory will be lifted.
