BUTLER, Pa. — Police say a 13-year-old boy was arrested for bringing a gun inside a Butler County YMCA.
The gun was loaded and hidden in a backpack, according to police, but they say there was no bullet in the chamber and it was never pulled out or used.
There are after-school programs there, so when members found out a teenage boy brought a loaded gun into the building Monday they couldn't believe it.
"That's scary, kids that age should not have guns, especially here," member Kailyn Trimble said.

Butler City police told Channel 11 the teenager was horsing around with some friends in the gym and showed his buddy the gun he had stashed in his school backpack.
"Apparently he told people he was being bullied and he needed it for protection," Chief Deputy Dave Adam said.
Police say the young boy who saw the gun immediately went for help and told a YMCA worker.
"This is a good thing he went and told, who knows what could've happened," Adam said.
Police say the boy took the gun from his grandpa.
They don't know how long he had it in his school backpack.
The YMCA told Channel 11 it is thankful that one of its members reported what he saw.
