WEST DEER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man fell three stories Tuesday from scaffolding at a construction site in West Deer Township, officials said.
The fall was reported just before 8:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of Cedar Ridge Road, where the Highpoint at Rebecca Concordia Retirement Community is being built.

Channel 11's Jennifer Tomazic learned that the 27-year-old man who fell is a bricklayer. He fell about 30 feet onto his back, but was conscious when he was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
Tomazic is looking into what protection is required when people are working on scaffolding for Channel 11 News, starting at 5 p.m.
