CANONSBURG, Pa. — The Canonsburg Post Office was rededicated Monday to honor fallen police Officer Scott Bashioum.
The post office will now be called the Police Officer Scott Bashioum Post Office Building.

Bashioum was shot and killed on Nov. 10, 2016, while responding to a domestic violence call. He was a seven-year veteran of the Canonsburg Police Department.
Sens. Pat Toomey and Bob Casey introduced legislation earlier this year to have the post office rededicated in Bashioum's name.

A plaque was unveiled honoring Bashioum during the ceremony.
