HEMPFIELD, Pa. — A decadeslong dream of competing on a cooking game show came to fruition for a chef at Hempfield’s IronRock Tap House.
According to our partners at TribLIVE.com, 42-year-old Arnold Ivey fulfilled that dream by appearing on “Guy’s Grocery Games” which airs on the Food Network.
Ivey and two other chefs could only use 26 ingredients for their culinary challenge, one ingredient for every letter of the alphabet.
In the first round, the chefs were required to make a chicken dinner using 13 ingredients. In the second round, the two remaining chefs could only use the remaining 13 ingredients to create a seafood dish.
“It was probably the hardest thing I’ve done in my career,” Ivey said.
Ivey said he’s auditioned for “Hell’s Kitchen,” hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey, but never made it to the final cut.
The episode featuring Ivey aired Wednesday night.
