CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A construction vehicle hit an overpass along the Pennsylvania Turnpike, leading to backups Tuesday morning.
Turnpike Commission officials said the truck hit the Freedom Road Overpass, leaving part of it wedged into the overpass.
Once the truck was removed, crews began cleaning up debris.
Officials said the overpass will need to be inspected.
No one was hurt.
Traffic on the turnpike heading eastbound is at a crawl. One lane is still open, but I’m seeing significant backups already. Overpass is still open, but there is a police officer directing traffic. @WPXITraffic @WPXI pic.twitter.com/TRQoUb46MT
