Coroner called to crash on Route 66 in Westmoreland County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Westmoreland County Coroner Timothy Carson was called Tuesday morning to a vehicular crash on Route 66 in Washington Township, officials said.

The accident was reported just after 10 a.m., and emergency dispatchers said the call came in as a two-vehicle, head-on collision with possible entrapment.

Carson said 21-year-old Michael Signore was driving south on State Route 66 when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2009 Dodge Ram.

The coroner also said Signore was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks, according to the coroner.
