Investigators said Lewis was inside the club with a friend. The friend got into an argument with a woman inside, left the club and walked to his car. Police said he texted Lewis to see where he was and heard gunshots being fired.

“He was a great man, a great father, a great husband, a great son and a great friend and a great businessman,” said Takesha Lewis, the victim’s wife.

Now, his family is determined to keep Lewis’ legacy alive because he did so much for the community.

His wife told Channel 11 he helped coach little league baseball and helped organize a school supply drive.

His family also said Lewis went to Capitol Hill to speak about minority-owned businesses.
