A former psychiatric aide at Torrance State Hospital is accused of sexually assaulting a patient.
According to our news partners at TribLIVE.com, a hospital employee allegedly caught Donald Pepley viewing pornographic material on his phone while putting his hand under the bed sheet of a mentally challenged patient.
The 42-year-old female told investigators that Pepley “hurt me" and that she couldn't tell anyone until he was gone.
People who live nearby Blairsville told Channel 11 the state facility is known as a good place to work and employs many local people. They're shocked and disappointed to hear the accusation.
Pepley faces sexual assault and indecent assault charges. He has denied those charges and was released on $10,000 bond.
