Former West Penn Hospital worker who secretly recorded co-workers, patients sentenced

PITTSBURGH — A former West Penn Hospital worker who pleaded guilty to secretly recording co-workers and patients has been sentenced.

Guy Caley, 52, was sentenced to 11 to 22 months in the Allegheny County Jail, followed by 10 years of probation. Following his release, Caley must register as a sex offender for 15 years.

Caley pleaded guilty in May to 89 counts for videotaping victims in a West Penn Hospital bathroom and imaging room.

Caley was first charged in July 2020 after an investigation stemming from a camera found in a unisex employee bathroom in December.

Caley told investigators he had previously used the same camera several other times to video people in the bathroom. He would take the camera home and download the videos to his laptop.

Investigators looked at videos that were taken over a two-year period, in 2018 and 2019.

Some of the videos captured Caley placing the cameras, according to the complaint.
