PITTSBURGH — A 57-year-old man charged with 50 counts of sexual assault, incest and other crimes was arrested in Huntingdon County after deputies found him underneath a tree near an abandoned railroad.
According to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, Edward Stallman pled guilty in 2001 to aggravated indecent assault - without consent and indecent deviate sexual intercourse. Originally he faced over 50 other charges. Deputies said he pled guilty and received 20 years in prison. He finished his sentence at a facility in Allgheny, was released in January and was required to register for life under Megan’s Law.

He was listed as non compliant April 27, and when deputies went to check his last known address in Mt. Oliver, they found that he had never lived there.
Deputies said they learned Stallman was staying in Huntingdon County, which is south of State College and East of Altoona. Over the weekend, locals tipped off investigators that Stallman was living in the woods near a mountain ridge in the area.
Deputies found Stallman beneath a tree off Route 522 in Orbisonia and he was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
