Man dead, suspect in hospital after incident in North Versailles

NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. — A man is dead and the suspect is in the hospital after an incident in North Versailles.

First responders responding to a shooting found a 37-year-old man dead in the 500 block of Rustic Road around 11:17 p.m, Allegheny County police reported.

When the suspect saw police, they said he ran from them, and then shot himself in the head. He was taken to a hospital, where he is expected to survive.

Allegheny County police didn’t say how the other man died, but we do know officers were originally sent to the area after someone called to report a shooting.

County homicide detectives are investigating.
