A 41-year-old man was hit and killed by a tanker truck Wednesday night in Lancaster Township, Butler County.
The accident was reported about 9:30 p.m. on Interstate 79, at mile marker 89.
Police said the man, Beau Marquis, of Pittsburgh, was taken to UPMC Passavant in Cranberry Township, where he was pronounced dead.
Southbound lanes of I-79 were closed for several hours after the accident.
