LATROBE, Pa. — A man is jailed on attempted homicide charges for allegedly stabbing two people inside a Latrobe apartment.
Police said Scott Matuszky returned from work early Saturday morning and started drinking inside his Gertrude Street apartment.
He became more hostile and aggressive as the morning went on, police said.
“I was shocked but I wasn’t shocked because they fight a lot,” said Marlene Gibb, who lived down the street. "Everybody gets along. I think one time maybe twice at the most I've seen the cops down here, everybody is pretty close knit."

Police said first, Matuszky stabbed his sister in the right arm and then left the room and went after his wife.
Matuszky’s step-daughter intervened and shielded her mother. She was then stabbed multiple times, police said.
At one point during the assault, police said Matuszky made an eerie reference to a 2012 murder case.
"He made reference to a homicide here in Latrobe area where he'd pull a David Stahl, where he was accused of killing his wife,” said Michael Migand, Latrobe Police Department.
The victims received stitches and is expected to be OK.
