Motorcyclist hit, killed by pickup truck on Route 19

MERCER CO., Pa. — A motorcyclist was hit and killed by a pickup truck on Route 19 in Mercer County Sunday.

According to state troopers, the deadly crash happened around 6 p.m. in the 3500 block of Perry Highway (Route 19).

Investigators said a man in his 50s was riding his motorcycle north on Route 19 when he was struck by a pickup truck that had pulled up from Steck Road.

State troopers told Channel 11 the victim – who was not identified – ended up in the parking lot of Bucks Fabricating Company and was pronounced dead by the coroner at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured in the crash, and it is unclear if the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time.
