Motorcyclist killed in crash in Pittsburgh’s South Side

PITTSBURGH — A Penn Hills man died after a crash Tuesday night involving his motorcycle and another vehicle in Pittsburgh’s South Side.

According to police, the crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. at the intersection of East Carson Street and South 11th Street. That is near the 10th Street Tattoo shop and a small parklet.

The motorcyclist who died was identified as 32-year-old Brandon Nixon.

It’s not clear what caused the crash. Investigators said a Port Authority bus was right behind the vehicle that collided with the motorcycle rider and caught the entire incident on camera. They’ll be using that footage in their investigation.

With the weather turning nicer, police said drivers need to be more aware of motorcycles on the road.
