Nearly 100 students from Plum junior high school quarantined due to COVID-19

PLUM, Pa. — Nearly 100 students are currently in quarantine due to COVID-19 from just one building in the Plum School District: OBlock Junior High.

The district’s COVID-19 Count information, which was updated Tuesday, shows 94 students are in active quarantine from that school. So far this school year, there have been one staff member and 102 students who have been quarantined due to exposure.

Elsewhere in the district, there are 15 active cases and 72 other students who are in quarantine.

The Plum district had an optional mask policy as long as the positive case rate stayed below 8%. That has now changed after Gov. Tom Wolf’s announcement that masks will be required in schools.
