One of region’s largest banks commits to putting headquarters at former Civic Arena site

PITTSBURGH — F.N.B. Corp. (NYSE: FNB) has signed a letter of intent to be anchor tenant to a new 24-story, mixed-use tower called FNB Financial Center at the redevelopment site of the former Civic Arena in the Lower Hill District.

The deal ensures that one of Pittsburgh’s biggest banks will have the headquarters office tower it has long been seeking in the city’s urban core, while the city will get a new office tower for its skyline for the first time in years.

Expected to be completed in 2022, it is likely to accelerate the rest of the development at the site, which is controlled by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
