Parks reopen in local township, but restrictions still in place

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — It's a big day for people who live in Cranberry Township. Parks have reopened and people will be able to access many of the recreational facilities.

People wasted no time getting back to exercising: Graham Park was bustling with walkers and bikers, people using the tennis courts and shooting hoops.

Jim Basilone, 76, came out first thing this morning to play basketball.

"This is beautiful. You've got everything here. If you can't get exercise here, you need to be at home," Basilone said.

"It's nice to see these because the kids haven't had anything to be able to do other than sit at home or gather in groups," walker Sharon Salak said.

No structured team play is permitted, just free play with safety in mind, park officials said.

Signs at the park ask people to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines by keeping a six-foot distance and washing hands frequently.

Not everything is open, for example, the playground at Graham Park is closed.
