The new franchise location on McKnight Road officially opens at 6 a.m. Thursday.
By Wednesday morning, there were already several tents in the parking lot. Hours later, the campsite had grown.
The first 100 customers in line will receive free Chick-fil-A for a year, or more specifically 52 Chick-fil-A sandwich meals with waffle fries and a drink.
The location is also hosting a book drive for Peebles Elementary School, which is in the North Allegheny School District.
The owner of the new store, Mike Ortmann, also owns the franchise in Ross Park Mall.
