Pittsburgh parking officer who allegedly refused to move car for ambulance no longer employed by authority

PITTSBURGH — A parking enforcement officer who officials say was caught on camera allegedly blocking the street with her car and refusing to move for an ambulance is no longer employed by the Pittsburgh parking authority.

It’s unknown if she resigned or was fired.

The incident happened on Nov. 16 on Atwood Street in Oakland.

Parking Authority Executive Director Dave Onorato told Channel 11 they are not supposed to block streets at all. Those officers are supposed to pull over to a “safe area,” which is mostly for emergency vehicles, such as ambulances.

The officer has not been identified.
