PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival is returning to Kennywood Park in 2022.
This is the first year that the Festival will be hosted on a Friday evening.
The festival will take place on Friday, Sept. 9 from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. with over two-dozen pierogi vendors serving one of the city’s favorite foods.
“Hosting the Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival on a Friday night is great for everyone,” says Nick Paradise, Kennywood director of communications. “Festival-goers get to enjoy Pittsburgh’s favorite food and the bright lights of a summer night at Kennywood, and we get to give Pittsburgh one more day and one more way to play with us during our biggest and best season ever!”
The park will open several rides including the Merry-Go-Round, Thunderbolt, Jack Rabbit, Racer, Turtle, and Noah’s Ark, as well as the newly restored Kangaroo ride.
The first Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival was in 2012. Kennywood Park hosted it for the first time in 2017.
Vendors this year include S&D Polish Deli, The Pittsburgh Pierogi Truck, Gosia’s, Michele’s Mobile Meals, Las Chicas, Pittsburgh Smokehouse, Pietryzak Pierogi, Love Rocks Cafe, Scratch & Co., The Pierogi Lady, DelVecchio’s Sausage, Pittsburgh Crepes, The Vault Taproom, the Mobile Chef and more.
There will also be a Pop-Up Pierogi Marketplace, which will feature items such as apparel, housewares, pottery, a pierogi soap-on-a-roap, Christmas ornaments and more.
