Police looking for suspect in bowling alley burglary

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — State Police in Beaver Falls are looking for a person who broke into a bowling alley and smashed a machine to steal the money inside.

Sims Bowling Lanes on Big Beaver Boulevard posted video on social media to try to identify the thief, who was caught on several surveillance cameras in the building.

The break-in happened around 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning, after the owner of the bowling alley said the suspect shimmied through a small window before shattering the glass of the machine and stealing the money.

“It’s disheartening, but thankfully that was the only machine that was hit,” said owner Dave Fischer.

The thief was carrying a backpack and hammer and was wearing glasses.

The break-in is a second setback for the bowling alley, which has already been financially hit by COVID-19 restrictions.

“We’re going to find out whoever did this and we’re going to hold them accountable, for sure,” Fischer said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
