Punxsutawney Phil sees shadow, predicting 6 more weeks of winter with below-average temps forecast

PITTSBURGH — Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow Tuesday morning which, according to folklore, means six more weeks of winter. It was cloudy and snowing when the groundhog made his prediction.

However, how did Phil see his shadow when it was cloudy?

Either way you look at it, we still technically have six more weeks of winter on the calendar as the spring equinox falls on March 20.

The next couple of weeks around our area should bring colder than average temperatures. There will be a mix of rain and snow. Average highs are in the upper 30s and average lows are in the low 20s this time of year.
