AMBRIDGE, Pa. — More than 75,000 people get their water from the Ambridge Reservoir and they want to make sure it stays safe to drink.
A pipeline will soon carry ethane gas through the watershed to the Shell plant coming to Potter Township in Beaver County.
On Tuesday, local groups confronted the Ambridge Water Authority, asking it to adopt a source water protection plan.

"You've got to do more to protect us as much as you can, and we'll back you up,” said Jim Hamilton, of Ambridge.
The plan would establish setbacks for the pipeline and require erosion and sedimentation permits.
