Rivers Casino to reopen Friday morning with strict COVID-19 rules in place

PITTSBURGH — The Rivers Casino will be back open starting Friday morning with strict rules in place from the state.

A news release from the casino said there are over 100 hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipe stations throughout the gaming floor for people to use on their hands and to wipe surfaces. An air handling system uses bipolar ionization, which is 99.9% effective in neutralizing COVID-19 on surfaces.

People who are feeling sick or show symptoms of coronavirus such as cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat or loss of smell are asked to stay home.

Rivers Poker Room, The Event Center and Valet Parking remain closed.

Mian and Flipt are offering takeout menus. Other food areas are still closed. The facility said it recently upgraded its HVAC system to disinfect indoor air. There is no smoking or use of tobacco products anywhere inside the casino. Designated smoking areas are marked outside.

Masks must also be worn at all times while in the casino. Staff members will be constantly monitoring and enforcing the rule. Guests will have their temperature taken before entering the casino.
