A 10-year-old boy in the midst of a battle with cancer received a surprise from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ James Conner, a cancer survivor himself.
Carter was diagnosed with Pre-B-ALL leukemia in August and immediately started treatment, according to a GoFundMe page set up for him. The diagnosis came after he began experiencing pain while conditioning for soccer.
Through his battle, Carter has been inspired by Conner’s story and his strength in overcoming Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

In photos posted Monday on the "One Step at a Time" Facebook page, Carter is seen with a big smile on his face while holding a signed Conner jersey.
“Stay strong. Best wishes!” Conner wrote on the jersey he autographed.
Conner shared a couple of the photos of Carter on Twitter Tuesday.
