Surveillance captures man robbing local store at gunpoint, police searching for suspect

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Police released photos of the man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a local store.

According to investigators, the suspect – who has not yet been identified – held the clerk at the Metro PCS store in Washington, a block from the Washington County Courthouse, at gunpoint and demanded money.

The situation unfolded moments before another customer walked in the door.

Surveillance video captured the man walking into the store carrying a plastic bag Saturday afternoon. Another angle shows when he places the bag on the counter and pulls out a gun, points it at the clerk and demands cash.

The video shows the clerk slowly lowering off his stool toward the cash register and beginning to collect bills, handing them to the robber and then placing both hands in the air.

The clerk told police the suspect said, "Give me all the money. Don’t touch anything or I will kill you.”

Seconds later, another customer walked in the store. Police said the clerk told him to leave, locked the door and called 911.

While surveillance video from inside of the store didn’t capture his face clearly, police said video from the street caught it and they’re hoping someone recognizes him.
