BUTLER, Pa. — A pickup truck crashed into a downed tree Friday morning in Butler, officials said.
The accident forced the closure of part of Route 8 between Dingham Road and Penn Street. The road was fully reopened around 2 p.m.
A utility pole and power lines were also brought down, knocking out power to an apartment building.
It is unclear whether the driver of the truck was injured.
Crews worked for hours to cut up the downed tree and remove it from the road. West Penn Power crews then started repairing the pole and power lines.
