Utilities assistance applications now being accepted for Allegheny County program

ALLEGHENY COUNTY — Help is now available for Allegheny County residents who are having trouble covering their utility bills.

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program is now accepting applications for utilities assistance at https://covidrentrelief.alleghenycounty.us.

Utilities assistance includes help with electricity, gas or fuel oil, sewage, trash removal and water. Applicants will need to provide the name of the utility company, the name on the account, the account number and the months for which they are requesting assistance. Utilities will be paid through the Dollar Energy Fund. Eligibility for both rent and utilities relief is being determined by ACTION-Housing, and assistance with the online-only application is available by calling 412-248-0021, or by visiting one of their approved drop-in centers.

Those who have already submitted rent relief applications were notified during the process of the impending availability of utilities assistance. Applicants can now log back into their account (directly, at https://acdhscrrp.alleghenycounty.us/CITIZEN) and complete the utilities portion of the application, if assistance is needed.

More information about the program, including the application, eligibility guidelines, a list of necessary documents, drop-in center locations and other detail, can be found at https://covidrentrelief.alleghenycounty.us.
