Warrendale-based retailer rue21 announced Friday that it had “emerged from the Chapter 11 process,” the company said in a release.
The company, which specializes in teen apparel, initially filed for voluntary Chapter 11 reorganization on May 15.

The purpose of the reorganization was to “reduce the company’s debt and provide additional capital in support of its restructuring,” the release said.
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Western Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh confirmed rue21’s restructuring plan on September 11.
The retail company has 758 stores in 45 states nationwide.
