PITTSBURGH — Ken Zeff knows the closed coffee shop location at 4525 Liberty Ave. well enough that he’s working to rehire its former employees and has a deal in place with its landlord.

When he opens there in June, it will be the second location of his Yinz Coffee shop business just as it was for his one-time Crazy Mocha Coffee Co., the local coffee shop chain he grew to more than 30 locations before selling it off.

With his former chain now in Chapter 11 under different ownership, Zeff has reached a deal with the former Bloomfield Crazy Mocha location’s owner, Barron Real Estate, to ink a new lease for the shop and plans to reopen it as Yinz Coffee by Father’s Day.

“We’re pretty excited,” said Zeff, who has lots of fond memories of when he owned and operated the Bloomfield Crazy Mocha.

“Everybody knew each other. People would hang out and chat with each other,” he said. “There was a little bit of everybody going there.”
